Joomlatools is Bound for Brazil!

We are bringing the magic of DOCman to the city of Florianopolis, Brazil on September 2-4. Our very own Johan Janssens will be one of the four international speakers recognized as the most important members of Joomla in their areas who will be part of the Joomladay festivities that only Brazil can truly offer!

Johan will be doing a keynote about the future of Joomla and lead a workshop on document management in Joomla with DOCman. Two talks not to miss!

1. The future of Joomla – Collaborative innovation

There is no doubt, in 6 years time Joomla has grown to be one of the top three open source CMS systems in the world, used by almost 3% of all the Internet websites. We did it! So what’s next?

This session will take a look at Joomla’s history, from the day Joomla was born on the 17th of August 2005, and past the many successes and challenges it has faced.

You will get a birds-eye view on the state of Joomla today and  try to define a vision for Joomla’s future growth.

2. Document management with Joomla using DOCman

Conceived in 2003, DOCman is the leading document management extension for Joomla. The latest DOCman 1.6 release is fully compatible with Joomla 1.6 and 1.7. Behind the scenes, the Joomlatools team is working hard on DOCman 2.0, which brings a complete rewrite of the DOCman codebase.

During this workshop, we walk you through the setup and use of DOCman 1.6. Show you how you can add document management capabilities to your Joomla site and expose some of DOCman’s hidden secrets. We will also explore various common scenarios like setting up an intranet with DOCman.

The second part will be a sneak preview of DOCman 2.0, the revolutionary rebuild of DOCman. You will be the first to discover what’s coming! Don’t miss it.
